These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the BarcodeLab API, website, and related services ("Service") operated by BarcodeLab ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
BarcodeLab provides a REST API for generating and decoding barcodes across 60 symbologies. The Service is offered on a subscription basis with tiered pricing plans as described on our pricing page.
To use the Service beyond the free tier, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree not to use the Service to:
You are responsible for keeping your API keys confidential. Do not share API keys in public repositories or client-side code. We are not liable for unauthorised use of your API keys. You may revoke and regenerate keys at any time from your dashboard.
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Paddle, our authorised payment processor and Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all payment processing, VAT/tax collection, and invoicing on our behalf.
Subscriptions automatically renew each billing period. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access until then.
We offer a 7-day refund on first-time purchases if you are not satisfied with the Service. Refund requests must be submitted to support@barcodelab.dev within 7 days of the charge. Refunds are processed through Paddle. We do not offer refunds for subsequent billing periods or for overage charges.
Each subscription plan includes a monthly operation quota as described on the pricing page. Unused quota does not roll over. If you exceed your quota, API requests will return HTTP 429 until the next billing period or until you upgrade your plan.
We target 99.9% monthly uptime for paid plans and 99.99% for Enterprise. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be announced with at least 24 hours notice where possible. Uptime SLAs do not apply to the free tier.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We do not store the content of barcodes you encode or decode beyond what is necessary for quota tracking and abuse prevention. Usage metadata (operation count, symbology type, timestamp) is retained for billing and analytics purposes.
The Service, including all software, documentation, and barcode output, is owned by BarcodeLab. You retain all rights to the data you submit. Barcode images generated by the Service may be used for any lawful purpose without restriction.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that barcode output will be compatible with every scanner or reading system. You are responsible for testing barcode output for your specific use case.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BarcodeLab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of revenue, data, or business opportunity.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Karachi, Pakistan, except where prohibited by local law.
